How To Measure Doors For Shades

French Door

Measure the width of the glass inside each door across the top, middle and bottom.
Take the largest width and add 2’’-3’’ to it.
Same for the height measure. Top to bottom on the left, middle and right.
Take the largest height and add 4’’-6’’ to it.

Sliding Door

You are going to take 3 measurements when across the top, middle and bottom of the door opening.

If you choose outside mount, take the largest width and add at least 4’’ to it to allow for maximum light coverage.

If the depth of the top frame is less than 2’’, you need to choose outside mount.

If you choose inside mount, use the smallest width for your order.

If you choose outside mount, door heights are measured top to bottom starting from where you’ll place the headrail typically 3’’-4’’ above the door.

If you choose inside mount, door heights are measured top to bottom, take your 3 measurements from the top to the bottom on the left, middle and right, using the largest height for your order.

Side By Side

Measure the window width in three places (top, middle, bottom).

For 2 separate blinds in one window, take the biggest width and divide it by 2. If your window measure 70’’ width, calculate the width of each blind as follows: 70’’÷2= 35’’.

For 3 separate blinds in one window, repeat the same steps. If your window measure 90’’ width, calculate the width of each blind as follows: 90’’÷3= 30’’.
